Working Hour: 9AM – 6PM Monday – Friday & half-day Saturday 

Position Summary  

The Head of STDC oversees the comprehensive management and strategic direction of the STDC. This leadership role is responsible for guiding a team of the career development team lead, senior personal development coaches, personal development, and teachers who deliver different courses. The Head will ensure the successful implementation of personal and professional development programs for students aged 12-17, towards aiming for national and international admissions and scholarships. This position requires a strategic vision for enhancing academic and personal growth opportunities, fostering a supportive environment for both staff and students, and driving initiatives that align with the center’s goals.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

As a Head of STDC, your general duties of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following (based on a 44-hour work week): 

Leadership and Management: 

  • Supervise and mentor career development team lead, senior personal development coaches, personal development, and course teachers. 
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the center’s programs and initiatives. 
  • Oversee the scheduling, content delivery, and quality assurance of courses. 
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the team to enhance student engagement and success. 

Program Development and Implementation: 

  • Design and refine coaching strategies and action plans to support students in achieving their development goals. 
  • Ensure that the center’s programs effectively address students’ academic, personal, and career development needs. 
  • Evaluate and update curriculum and teaching materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. 

Student Engagement and Support: 

  • Monitor and assess the impact of personal development and career training programs on students’ success and satisfaction. 
  • Address complex student issues and provide guidance to ensure positive outcomes. 
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and other events to enhance students’ learning experience, leadership skills, and academic effectiveness. 

Administrative and Operational Oversight: 

  • Manage budgets, resources, and coordination for the center’s operations. 
  • Prepare and present reports on program performance, student progress, and staff development. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and institutional policies. 

Stakeholder Collaboration: 

  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues of other Units under Academy and GPA and external stakeholders.  
  • Represent the center in meetings, conferences, and public forums to promote its mission and achievements.

Competency Requirements 

Education and experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Human Resources, Social Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 
  • Minimum of accumulative 5 years of experience in personal development coaching/student mentoring/career counseling or a related experience. 
  • Proven experience in leadership and management roles within educational or career development settings. 
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design. 
  • Experience in teaching Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and the Seven Habits principles is highly desirable.

  • Effective communication (Vietnamese and English), interpersonal, and organizational skills. 
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities with a focus on student empowerment and success. 
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
